Importance of utilising trusted claims firms highlighted as Tucan Claims go silent

For the thousands of people in the UK who are currently seeking compensation for missold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI), finding a claims firm can often be the first step. Such companies normally offer a no win, no fee option, and enable people to avoid much of the hassle in trying to recoup their lost money. However, it is vital to utilise only trusted claims companies and those that the Ministry of Justice has approved. This importance has been highlighted after Tucan Claims fell silent.

Tucan Claims has already been banned by the Ministry of Justice from taking on new cases, but unfortunately, this did not apply for the company’s operations in Scotland. Now, many customers desperately trying to get hold of their money have not been able to reach the firm due to “technical difficulties”. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Tucan has not filed accounts, and staff working at the company’s head quarters have been let go.

One customer, Argyll resident Jim, said, “I’ve had five credit cards over the years, and Tucan said I was entitled to compensation from those firms. It was a no-brainer as they said it was no win, no fee. If they didn’t get me any money, they’d refund me.” However, not only has he not had any compensation, but also his £249.99 initial fee has not been refunded.

The issue has highlighted just how important it is to claim missold PPI with a trusted and accredited firm. In addition, for those opting in with Tucan, it seems that they have been hit by not only missold PPI, but a badly managed firm too.
